It's been busy for me lately, but I've been making sure I have time for everything. I started a new job and classes on the same day. My class is taking off like gang busters. I have something due every week. This week I have a group project and I finally heard back from everyone. Nuts. My birthday is coming up and I want to do something for that. So I have to get the house ready. It's not too bad, but there are clothes everywhere. I hate laundry. I like ironing, but I hate laundry.
I'm excited because I sold my first print. I've sold paintings, but now I've sold my first print. It's being given as a gift. I'm glad. That is our goldfish when she was a little baby. She would sleep over this shell. It was her spot.
I've been featured in another treasury!
I'm so excited. The thing is that the painting already sold. But, it's nice to get the exposure. Check it out!

I've just listed a couple of new ACEO (Art Card Editions and Original). ACEOs are way for people to collect art on a budget. ACEOs are trading card size and can be orignals or reproductions (maybe the original sold or is priced too high). You can have a mini version of my art. I'll be listing all week. here is what I've listed so far:

Love Birds
Current mood:
creative
I have resurrected a painting I did in 2006 called Love Birds. It is one of my recent favorites for a number of reasons, including their colors and what they represent, love. According to wikipedia, love birds are called love birds because they are a very social and affectionate parrots. It kind of reminds me of my grandparents' parrots. It is thought that these birds when kept in captivity should remain in pairs (not unlike goldfish). They also form long-time relationships with humans (also not unlike goldfish).
If you're interested in my "love birds" as an 8" x 8" giclee* print then click here for the listing within my etsy shop: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=11889773 . This print would make a great gift for a loved one or anniversary present.
My etsy shop is having a week-long sale. Take a look at what has been marked down at up to 50%. http://victoriasart.etsy.com
*Giclee (pronounced "zee-clay") comes from the French word, "fine spray". It is a digital plotter-based (large format) print that is produced by the application of millions of tiny ink droplets sprayed onto fine art paper or canvas. The archival based inks used are specially formulated so that the fine print heads spray droplets at a resolution of 1200 dpi. The media used is also of archival grade and can last from 100 to 200 years. The visual quality of the print is extremely high and the color saturation and definition stunning.
I've just added the following painting, Pears, to my Etsy shop, Victoriasart.
Check it out:

I want to thank Jon Dose for sharing my art with his friend who in turn purchased "pears." You made my day :)
I finally got around to scanning in two paintings that are relatively new. They are original, watercolor paintings and are for sale at http://victoriasart.etsy.com along with my other paintings and prints.
I particularly like the pillows one. I love the colors and I spent a lot of time on the detail which is hard to see in a jpg on the computer.
What I've been up to lately (artistically):
Not much.
But, that's going to change. I'm commissioned to paint a cat for someone and I have finished studying for my exam and will now devote my time to that and my Christmas card design.
Although, I've been sketching in my sketchbook. I've been drawing lots of caricatures and heads. I keep thinking I should scan them because they are quite interesting, but I never get around to it. Scanning is always a chore lately. I need inspiration.
Christmas Card:
Every year I design my own Christmas card. Sometimes it is in flash (if I have loads of time to spare) and sometimes it starts off in Flash and ends up as an image and then to a card. The year before last, my fiance and I were snowmen and a little creature hopped around. We had some crazy synth sounds for the jingle bells song we made on the keyboard. Last year, we were dressed as Santa and Mrs. Claus and the little animal was a new color. I made vector drawings of some of the electronic music equipment we were playing. This one wasn't animated. I didn't have time.
This year, we're going to go a different route and be a little political. Surprise, so I'm not going to describe it now. I still haven't started drawing santa and frankly, not in the mood. But, I better get in the mood soon.
